You’d be hard-pressed to find a girl growing up in the 70’s who didn’t have his poster on their wall. David Cassidy, the former teen idol and star of “The Partridge Family,” has died at the age of 67. Publicist JoAnn Geffen says in a statement that Cassidy died“surrounded by those he loved.”No further details were immediately available, but Geffen said Saturday that Cassidy was in a Florida hospital suffering from organ failure.Cassidy starred in the 1970’s sitcom and sold millions of records as the group’s lead singer.
Danny Bonaduce – who played Cassidy’s younger brother on “The Partridge Family” put out this statement on Twitter. “I have known, loved, and admired David Cassidy for 48 out of my 58 years. He has been as kind to me as any real brother could ever be. We’ve been through a lot together and he was always there for me. This loss is huge. RIP my dear friend.” (The Canadian Press)
