Changes In OC Transpo Pet Transportation Policy Starts Today

As of today, some pets are now allowed on public transit in Ottawa. Small pets, including cats and small dogs, can ride on OC Transpo buses and the O-Train as long as they’re in a pet carrier. They must remain in their carriers at all times and the carriers cannot be placed on seats or in the aisles — they’re only allowed on their owners’ laps while seated.

Among the list of prohibited animals in the by-law: non-domesticated cats and dogs, all snakes larger than three metres, and all predatory or large birds.
