Champions To Honour Jim Durrell

The Ottawa Champions will pay tribute to one of the founding members of baseball in the nation’s capital when they honour former Mayor Jim Durrell prior to the 2017 Can-Am League/American Association All-Star Game later this month.

Durrell will be recognized for his leadership and contribution to growing professional baseball in Ottawa with his work as Mayor in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s to land a Montreal Expos Triple-A franchise, the Ottawa Lynx, and secure financing to construct Ottawa Stadium, now RCGT Park.
