It’s always sad to lose someone, even those we don’t know but feel we do. As in the case of our favorite celebrities and sometimes it can be even harder when they’re taken way too soon.
Beverly Hills 90210 star Luke Perry is just that case, passing yesterday after a massive stroke last week at the young age of 52.
I loved Luke Perry, 90210 was my show and Dylan was my guy. Not because he was the bad boy but because you could see underneath the character to the man he was, always kind and gentle.
Once he left the show, I still kept up with his career and absolutely loved him in 8 Seconds. His star light was far from fizzling out with his renewed success in his role on the TV show Riverdale.
I think about how young he was though to leave us at the age of 52. I think about how my Dad was only a year older than he was when he first held me in his arms, when I was born and his life began. That is how I think about it and it saddens me to the core.
Former 90210er’s have come forth with their words, from Jennie Garth who played Kelly on the show, “My heart is broken. He meant so much to so many. Such a very special person. I share my deep sadness with his family and all who loved him. Such a terrible loss.”
From Steve Sanders aka Ian Zeiring, “Dearest Luke, I will forever bask in the loving memories we’ve shared over the last thirty years. May your journey forward be enriched by the magnificent souls who have passed before you, just like you have done here for those you leave behind. God please give him a seat close to to you, he deserves it.”
From Tori Spelling who played Donna Martins, “I’m in utter shock and heartbroken. I’m saddened for his kids whom he adored beyond words. He was so proud of Jack and Sophie. Luke was one of the kindest and most humble human beings I’ve ever known. I’m grateful for the years of friendship we had. He truly was family to me, a protector and a brother. I’m so sorry for the loss that everyone is experiencing.”
The world is a sadder place today, RIP Luke Perry, thanks for decorating my walls, heart and life.
