Canada’s Bianca Andreescu Becomes First Canadian To Win A Grand Slam Title-U.S. Open

Canadian tennis player Bianca Andreescu has won the U.S. Open, beating American tennis icon Serena Williams and becoming the first Canadian ever to win a Grand Slam title in singles.

It’s a meteoric achievement for a player that began the year as almost unknown, ranked at only 178th in the world at the beginning of the 2019 season. Just appearing in the U.S. Open final put her into the Top 10 of women’s professional tennis.
