I came across a new valet parking service in the ByWard market last night, coming back from Volta. Did a little digging and here’s what I found out… The ByWard Market BIA has entered into a partnership with Responsible Choice to offer valet parking. Drivers will pull up to the corner of York Street and Dalhousie, and an attendant will park your car in a nearby lot or available space. Darren Burrowes, the President of Responsible Choice Inc. says “It’s a really easy system, you pull up, and we take all the parking worries off your hands.” You basically sign in with your name, they take down your cell number, and text you with your ticket number. As soon as you’re ready to go, you text them back… and in about 15 minutes or so, your car will be waiting for you.” ByWard Market Valet parking is available Thursday and Friday, from 3 PM until midnight, Saturday from noon until midnight, and Sunday from noon until 8 PM. The cost is $15 or $25, depending on the time of day. The program is a pilot project that’ll run until December.
