Or so Georgie tells me 😉
Yes doing a 25 Fit-mas Book Camp Program before Christmas at Stronger Everyday Boot Camp was probably not my brightest idea, or was it 😉
Think about it….in my final days and with all the treats lying around…..just think about that. If I hadn’t done the Boot Camp and eating all those treats, how much more would I weigh right now….okay so that made me feel better 😉
In all seriousness, the reasons to work out include to melt fat away, to alleviate pain, to increase lean tissue, to stay young, to feel great and bottom line to be healthier.
Did you know working out can help to lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels, two reasons…..weak heart muscles pump little blood with lots of effort. By exercising you strengthen your heart muscles and train them to pump more blood with less effort. The stronger your heart is the less pressure will be exerted on your arteries.
Secondly exercise increases HDL levels in some people and this means a decrease in your risk for heart disease. Other heart disease risk factors such as weight, diabetes and high blood pressure all show improvement with regular exercise.
No to mention it helps in preventing or controlling Type 2 diabetes. Regular exercise helps to stabilize blood sugar levels. This is something that people with type 2 diabetes, or at risk for type 2 diabetes, gain substantial benefits from.
Exercise also improves the body’s use of insulin, and the related weight loss improves insulin sensitivity. Of course patients with type 2 diabetes need to follow guidelines from their doctor before starting an exercise program.
So ya see, I might not have gotten to my ideal weight this time around but at least I’m getting a head start on everything else.
Thanks again Georgie, right again 🙂
