Well there might be some ants as most picnics do attract them but for the most part, only bears as it is the CHEO Teddy Bear’s Picnic.
Yes, the National Capital Region’s family picnic party is this weekend as the CHEO Foundation invites you to come out and enjoy the Teddy Bears’ Picnic, tomorrow on the grounds of Rideau Hall. Please note there is no rain date.
The Teddy Bears’ Picnic is CHEO’s way of thanking people in our communities for their outpouring of support.
It is a fun-filled day jam-packed with activities for kids of all ages like the celebrity breakfast from 8am to 10:30am with pancakes, sausages, juice and coffee. Breakfast is free (while quantities last) thanks to Sezlik.com.
Don’t forget to bring your own teddy bear to the picnic too, in case it needs any TLC or any fixing up. At 9am the BASH Tent (Bear Ambulatory Surgical Hospital) will open with volunteers ready to fix any boo-boo that stuffies have sustained.
The head bear himself will be there too, Mr CHEO Bear 🙂 At 9:30am, CHEO Bear will lead the Parade Of Mascots to the delight of children big and small.
There will be entertainment, games, Build-a-Buddy, bouncy castles, clowns, princesses and more.
Admission is free, as are most of the activities thanks to the generous support of their sponsors.
Parking is free but there is no parking on site so some options are shuttles that will be available at CHEO, 401 Smyth Road in lots C and D starting at 7 a.m.
The last returning shuttle bus leaves the Rideau Hall grounds at 2:15 p.m. There is also free parking at the National Research Council of Canada, 100 Sussex Drive which is just a short walk to the picnic.
