Summer officially arrives on Tuesday, June 20th in B.C., but a day later in Ontario… Summer in Ottawa begins June 21st at 12:24 AM. It starts a little later in Atlantic Canada. But from Northwestern Ontario through to British Columbia, the clock hasn’t reached midnight yet as the season changes. So… summer will start Tuesday, June 20th – at 11:24 PM in Manitoba and 9:24 PM in B.C.
Just to clarify, it becomes summer everywhere on Earth at exactly the same moment. But that moment is defined as Tuesday in some places and Wednesday in others. This split over two days happens somewhere in the world pretty much every season, but this time the dividing point just happens to run right down the middle of Canada. By the way… we’ve got big plans for first day of summer!
