If I had a dollar for every Winter Storm Warning or Watch, Special Weather Statement, Freezing Rain or Drizzle and the list goes on, so far this year I’ve said, I’d be rich.
And now you can add another one to the list with a Winter Storm Watch for tomorrow into Wednesday. I’m seriously getting weather anxiety.
Environment Canada has issued a Winter Storm Watch which could see snowfall amounts of 30 to 40 cm and blowing snow Tuesday into Wednesday.
Snow will begin near midday Tuesday. Easterly winds gusting up to 60 km/h will also combine with the freshly fallen snow to create blowing snow. Total snowfall amounts of 30 to 40 cm are likely before the snow tapers off during the day Wednesday.
This snow is associated with a Colorado Low that will cross Southern Ontario Tuesday and Wednesday.
Avoid travel if possible. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas. If you must travel, keep others informed of your schedule and destination and carry an emergency kit and mobile phone.
Could someone please buy Mother Nature some flowers and chocolates for Valentine’s Day to make this madness end sooner than later, thank you 😉
